It would be better to jump into this card game that you know the rules so that you can play according to the book. In this article, you will learn the basic procedures on how to deal Blackjack and perfectly understand the rules of Blackjack dealers. Keep in touch on the succeeding discussions and explore some fundamental rules on dealing with a Blackjack.

The Basics of Blackjack for Dealers and Players

The principal rules when playing a Blackjack are just so simple. Players must have a score of 21 without exceeding this score. Blackjack is a type of one-on-one card game between the dealer and the player.

As a dealer, the fundamental rules in Blackjack must apply. The cards two to ten are worth their face value. And the king, queen, and jack are worth ten points each. Then, the ace card has an equivalent value of 1 or 11 points, which depends on the usage of your hand.

However, the advanced rules in Blackjack are quite different. Dealers are the ones paying out the bets, and they cannot obviously take insurance. Dealers cannot also double down in good hands, split their hands, or even surrender half of their bet. Aside from that, once you play as a dealer, you will face additional rules which limit your stand or hit. In some casinos, dealers need to hit their hands worth below seventeen points, regardless of the cards that make up on their hands.

If you have 17 points, then you cannot hit on. So, if you are playing as a dealer and have 17-21 points in your hand, you cannot fit further. Thus, you need to stand on whatever hand you have got.

Standing and hitting is just the only difference between player’s rules and dealer’s rules. This is just one of the restrictions on the additional rules which you need to learn. Moreover, dealers play their hand once the players had already played theirs.

With these additional rules and discrepancies between the player’s and dealers’ rules, it is important to learn and memorize the Blackjack dealer rules. This is to give you a perfect way of playing Blackjack and win this card game.

Prior to Dealing Your Cards

Do not quickly act when dealing with the cards. Prior to deal the cards to respective players, you should know first what to do. The first thing that you should bear in mind is to shuffle the cards. If you are playing with different players, you need to combine 2 or even more decks altogether.

After shuffling the cards in your hand, let the players choose their bets. All their bets must be placed first prior to start dealing the cards. Players are not allowed to place their bet once the cards were already dealt unless otherwise, they will split their hands into two or they will double down. Always remember that players can have fundamental strategy cars on the table.

Dealing Cards to Different Players

Start the game by dealing with the first card of the player — it should be face down. First to deal is a player on your left side, moving left to the right side until all remaining players are given. Then, finish it by dealing yourself with one card facing down. After that, deal another set of cards to every player. However, the card must be facing up this time. Then lastly, deal the final card for you. Of course, it should be facing upwards too. If this card is “ace,” you should ask other players if they wish to buy insurance. When they say “yes” to your question, then take the insurance of each player. The insurance must be half of the amount of its original bet. Flip over the next card to know if you have Blackjack or not.

Once you have Blackjack, you can start collecting the bets from the players who did not purchase insurance. However, those players who purchased insurance can have their original bets. A player with a Blackjack may receive its original bets, even though they did not buy insurance.

Dealer’s Turn

If all players had already their turn, then it’s now time for you to play. You may turn over the card facing down. If you have sixteen points or below, then deal another card for yourself. Just continue until it reaches 17 points or more.

Once you already have 17 points in your hand, then stop dealing cards anymore. If you have an ace on your second card, consider it as 11 until the total of its value exceeds 21. On the other hand, if its value exceeds 21, you lose, and the other wins. But if it’s worth below 21, you should pay those players who have higher worth than you. Then, collect the bets from the players who have lower worth than yours.

For some instances, if both dealers and players are ties, then refund their bets. Once you’re already done dealing with all their bets and the first game was already finished, you need to collect the cards and start to prepare for the next hand.

Players’ Turns

If your card facing up is not an ace, then just continue to play like normal. Start from the left side. All players must have their turn. When players opt to stand, you will move onto the next players. If they choose to hit, you will deal them with another facing-up card.

If players continue to draw cards and exceed 21 as the value on their hand, they are bust. You may start to collect their bets and move onto the next players. However, first-hand, they had a Blackjack. You need to pay them with a 3:2 bonus. For example, a $30 bet receives $40, plus their original bets.

Players may have a double down prior to taking some additional cards. In this scenario, deal new facing-up cards once they’ve added extra bets. As a dealer, you also need to remember that those players who select doubling down can only receive 1 new card and can’t opt to hit. On the other hand, those players who have matching cards may split its hand. And once they split it and decides to match its original bet, you need to deal them with two cards. These cards must be facing down. Players will then play 1 hand and followed by the next hand.
